Follow the part flow
Map how parts arrive, how they are located and where finished assemblies go. A cell layout should account for containers, orientation and operator access as well as the welding operation.
Separate process time from handling time
Create a timing breakdown for loading, locating, welding and unloading. Use measured or clearly labelled provisional values. A faster weld does not by itself establish a faster station.
Review access during changeover
Check how fixtures, consumables and service points are reached. Include the expected mix of part variants when discussing a manual, indexed or automated loading concept.
Discuss your production requirementsCompare the complete operating sequence
Review a complete cycle rather than the weld motion in isolation. A loading concept may need part verification, clamping confirmation, fume extraction and an inspection step before the next assembly can enter. Discuss these steps with the people who will operate and maintain the station.
What to bring to the review
Prepare a simple flow diagram, photographs of the current handling method and a list of part variants. Mark any cycle-time assumptions that still need measurement. This creates a shared basis for comparing layouts without treating provisional values as guaranteed output.
